To Recap

Well as many of you know I took a trip not too long ago.
Here’s a recap of whats going on:
The trip was awesome. We even made a few stops at the Grand Canyon (My first time). Grandma was totally shocked when I walked in the door..which was one of the best moments of the trip. I got to visit with other members of the family and spend time with my mom. I loved it.
Coming home was bitter-sweet. I so missed my husband but my life online was in a total mess. My website had issues big time. And still hasn’t seen the light of day. Don’t worry though, I’m going to be switching servers very soon.
Since I’ve come back, aside from the website issues, life is golden. Romantically Inclined is moving along very nicely…with more authors to be featured. I’m totally “yayyy”ing. I’m still in such awee at how well it’s doing.
Now for me to rag on something with a bit of venting or whatever you want to call it. Since many of you know I’m in semi-close contact with many great romance authors, when I hear them talk about reviews at *we’ll call them other sites* that attack the author it really bugs me. Why would someone want to take a review and attack a persons talents or refer to them as stupid? This totally erks me.
Here is my thinking. If you dont like a book, fine, ok. But why bash the author for it. If your going to leave a review, go ahead, explain why the book didn’t work for you. This will actually help the author understand what things their fans like and dislike in books. I will admit there have been books that I didn’t care for but in no way would I attack/bash the author in their skills at writing. I just write it off as a book that I wasn’t in the mood for. My point: Life is too short to go around being ticked off at the world. Even on the worst of days there is bound to be a bright side.
Bright side to not liking a book: At the local used book store you can get credit and buy a book you know you’ll love.
Bright side of loving a book: You’ll have a full library of Must-Reads and will never run out of great books to read.
BTW: Amie (my queen cat) says HI…she is so totally wanting to steal the keys from me so she can search for new slaves.
Reading: Julie Anne Long ~ Beauty And The Spy(btw I’m loving it so far)
Book quote: “….I shan’t let anyone murder you this evening.” “Thoughtful of you,” she murmured. (see more on this over at Romantically Inclined)
Quote: “Meow!!!!” Amie, greeting me from my long trip.

Haven, ((hugs)) I’m so happy you’ve arrived home safe and sound. We missed you while you were gone.
I’m yayiing with ya! Things are RI are good and the authors are fantastic.
On the thing about author book reviews…wow, you said it right. I’m with you, If I didn’t like a book (which I’ve been fortunate enough to have good reads most of the time) then that’s it. I won’t read it again or if *gasp* I can’t stand to finish it then I’m not about to go off on a personal rampage about the author of that book(s).
BTW, I’m one of those who sends thank you emails to authors when I’m done with a book.
Hugs,
Isabel
