The Bird, The Bird

Sorry this one might not be funny but is an actual rant..sorta.

As many know I have a fun and enjoyable illness..ok that was over the top but truth is I do. With this illness I end up taking tons of medications, most of which I hate. Sorry but pill poppin just isnt that much fun for me. With each pill I take my immune system is killed more and more. I take pill form of chemo, plus many other meds that kill my immune system.

Well the other night watching the news they did a story on the Bird Flu and what it would mean to many humans here in the states if it became transferable from human to human. All this info was based on healthy average humans. Then they go into details on how it would affect someone in my health. NOT GOOD!!

The way the odds go, an average person would be really ill and possibly die. I on the other hand would be faced with death. YIKES!

So as a person who watches the rounds on the flu and cold seasons I tend to not go out in public as much when these things are running high. Plus if I must go I wash my hands tons of times.

As someone with a low immune system should watch for these things it sometimes gets out of hand. You tend to look at each person walking past you not as another human but as a walking germ. Truth be told I hate that. I don’t like being looked down on and I don’t like seeing others in this light.

Now I’m not living in total fear of this Bird Flu but I am keeping an eye on it, just to be safe. And as it is right now I’ve felt like I’ve had phemonia(sp) for weeks.

Anyhow now that I’m finished with my rant I have a few reminders for everyone else…

If your sick get checked out, this is only smart.

If you cough or sneeze remember to cover your mouth/nose.

Wash your hands often if your sick…besides no one else wants your sickly germs.

Always remember that just because the average person walking beside you that you just sneezed on might look healthy and normal doesnt mean they are.

Oh and just for a funny…Just because you didn’t share as a child doesnt mean you should take your flu-time and share it haha.

I can really relate to what you’re saying! At the grocery store, the man in line behind me sneezed up all this gunk and it went all over my face. I got home and washed myself but still caught strep throat and the flu! The guy looked so sick I just knew he would give me something awful (and he did…)

Ewww that is nasty. Well due to my illness I’ve landed myself in the hospital (coming live from hospital bed lol) and last night in the e.r. there was a young child that was soo sick. I felt so bad for the little girl as I’ve had children that sick. But I also kept my distance, I think she might have had a horrid flue or even worse RSV(a very serious problem for small children).

Anyhow I hope you feel better and no one sneezes their ewwws on you anymore.

Wow, Josie that’s terrible. I hope you’re feeling better now. =)

Haven, how are you doing now? Yes, definitely don’t go out unless you have to during the cold/flu season. I carry antibacterial wipes with me just in case so I use them to clean handles (like grocery shopping carts) etc. If I start thinking of all the germs out there I freak out! But you do bring out very important points: We have to wash our hands frequently, mind our manners and not sneeze on people’s faces! and if one is sick then one should take care.

    Hugs,
    Isabel

Hello Haven! :) Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! I can sympathize with you having troubles coming up with a design for your own site…I find that I am the hardest person for me to design for!! LOL I’ll make something, love it for a day, then get sick of it and hate it right away…it’s frustrating :P Good luck to you!! ;)

BTW, your quote at the bottom comes from the Bible ;)
