Stupid is as stupid does…

Have you ever wondered how smart people can do such stupid things?

Yeah I know its a blockbuster thought, something to keep you up at night.

Well the other day I saw some very smart people do some really stupid things…and so the story begins…

I had a doctors appt at the local hospital and after checking in my husband and I took a seat outside the lobby. As always the lobby is packed and we normally take a sit in the hall chairs in front of the clinics. While sitting there waiting to be called I noticed that one of the clinic doors had a sign on it that said “stand behind the black tape and push handicap button”. Ok that says it all, if you want the door open stand behind the line and push the huge handicap button.

Simple right?? One might think so.

Wrong!!

Many people came to this door and pulled and tugged and pulled somemore. No luck, for some reason the door wouldn’t open. Hmm I wonder why.

After seeing numerous people pulling and tugging on this door my husband and I decided to help these people by pointing out the sign on the door. More people come to the door with the same luck as the ones before them, even doctors who have spent years in school couldn’t open this door. So as before my husband nicely points out the sign on the door and the tape on the floor.

One doctor pulled on the door and my husband mentioned the sign and he began to push the button but wasnt behind the tape so of course the door wouldn’t open. This doctor read the sign and still didn’t understand.

Personally I think this proves one thing…that people have either gone stupid or (in my opinion) have stopped paying attention. Each of those people could have taken the two seconds to read the sign and see that if they wanted this door to open they had to stand behind the tape and push a button but instead they chose to get annoyed (some to the level of cussing).

So after all this I bet your wondering what the lesson is?? As if I really need to point it out but I will anyhow.

If you stop and smell the roses (or in this case read the sign on the door in front of you) life will be sweeter (or as in this case it will open doors for you). Pay attention people! hehe.
