Lost In Chaos

Not really but it does make for a really great dramatic headline.
Why is my work in such a chaotic state? We’ll I began work again on my novel. If that doesn’t explain everything, you don’t write. Just teasing.
Seriously though, I’ve began again on retyping it into my pc..since I never had a “good” draft on this pc and I’ve became aware of how much I suck. Now I know it’s common for authors to hate their work but above the hate is there suppose to be sucking as well? So, what should have taken me only about 30 minutes of retype time has now turned into 3 days. I’m adding things, deleting things..hoping I’m making things wittier, filled with more emotion, giving more detail–lets all pray it works.
In any case, as the world of romance writing knows today is sorta the beginning of the mass take-over of one city, this years is Atlanta, GA. All types of authors will show up and, hopefully, be awed by the amount of talent that surrounds them. Sadly this year I can’t go, since we just moved the funds just aren’t there (insert me whining, crying and having a hissy fit here) but I’m hoping for next year.
Now you may think the above is way off topic but in a way it’s not. The other day I had a firm reality check…my book will never sell if its 1) uncompleted 2) still has all those spelling errors and 3) never sees an agent/editor. So I’m back to my goal and moving along full steam ahead. BTW that steam I hope is for my spicy scenes haha. Anyhow, I’m back on track to have my book finished, polished and ready to be submitted to agents/editors by the time next RWA National takes over Dallas. This is where I plan to begin my stalking, harassing and possibly bribing of anyone that could get me closer to my dream. Ok not really but it sounds good and dramatic right?
Well time for me to stop day dreaming and get back to work…if someone doesn’t crack a whip on me I’ll never get this work done…so as you can see I must be the one with the whip. My boss is a real meanie!
So I leave you with a bit of advice: Once can not accomplish their dream without taking the journey.
Word of the day: Proficient (adjective) having an advanced degree of competence. (this just seems to fit huh?)
Reading: Ways To Be Wicked by Julie Anne Long (coming in Oct.)

Great that you have a goal. As far as the re-writes go, I can relate. I pick my work over a million times and fluctuate between “this is brilliant” and “this suck pond scum”. I think that comes with the territory.:-)

I knew it was a common thing with authors but good gravy..I was reading things that were suppose to be witty and cute and was about ready to cry. So I finished chapter one, again, last night and hope that this time around you can actually feel the mood..not just read it.
