I'm a bit odd maybe on this. I think the bdays ending in 0 should be big where the ones 1-9 can be more private. So I'm turning 30 and dangit I want something good haha. For 31, I'll be happy with a card and a small gift (I really like getting books haha).

He did mention that (since he's keeping everything mum) we were going to a nice place to eat. He said he wasn't so sure on what to do since we won't know anyone in New Orleans. Heck we've lived in Dallas for almost four years and still only know the people next door lol. This just proves that I don't go out much (typically because of me being sick).

Oh, Haven, it seems our DHs share more than just first names huh?

I'm not expecting a big surprise party for any of my birthdays in the future. For one thing if Rich were to plan something he would need to enlist my help, so there goes the surprise.

No I don't think it's a bad thing for you to want a surprise party for this upcoming birthday or any after than or even a surprise party to celebrate a milestone in your life. Don't lose hope. I certainly, won't

Hugs,
Isabel

Hehe, Karen. I've already mentioned what I want but he doesn't want my help in planning it. So we shall see.

Thank you for the early bday.

It's not wrong to want that from your husband, but it's probably wrong to expect it *g*

Your husband must have some great points. This just isn't one of them. If you really really want a big party, tell him that you do, and then make all the plans yourself and make sure it's just what you want. Otherwise... well, it sounds like an invitation for months of arguments.

Happy (early) birthday!!
